Announcement

Hello all and Happy Easter weekend!

I have a bit of an announcement for you today. I have decided to take a step back from blogging here on Sweet Tips Nails starting today.

I started blogging a couple of years ago to have a place to post the nail art pictures I was bombarding my Facebook friends with on a daily basis. I started nail art in March of 2011 when I quit smoking and needed something to do with my hands. I've been in love ever since.

I love nail polish and nail art. I adore creating nail polish and being a part of the indie nail polish world. I love these things so much that I want to devote my energy and time to them instead of this blog. I just don't love blogging as much as I once did and it has become more of a chore than anything else and so I know it is time to let it go.

Now, most of you probably won't notice or miss me and that is ok. There are so, SO many much more talented and dedicated bloggers out there (check out my blog roll on the lower right for a bunch of my favorites) that you should be following instead.

I will be continuing my love affair with all things nail polish and to continue to avoid bombarding my Facebook friends with nail pics, I have created a page solely for my nail polish and nail art photos called, simply, Jen's Nails. I'd be happy for any/all of you to 'like' the page and continue with me there.

I am also new to Instagram and will be posting all kinds of nail related pics there as well!

I'll be keeping my Sweet Tips Nails Facebook page just for things related to my indie nail polish business of the same name.

Thank you to all of you for following me here, on Facebook, Etsy and elsewhere. Thank you to those who supported, helped, taught and encouraged me through the last few years. I appreciate you all!

I am not going anywhere (this blog will remain up as well) and hope to see all your familiar faces (names, icons? LOL) around the nail polish community!

Take care
XO
Jen

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: Julep Jennifer & Kleancolor Aurora

Hi all! For this On Wednesdays We Wear Pink post I cheated a bit. I think. Some may say Julep Jennifer is more nude or sheer than pink but if its a very sheer pink...it's still pink right?!
Of course, being a Jennifer, I had to have Julep Jennifer, a pretty, milky, sheer pink (it IS pink darn it!).
I applied 2 coats here and love it. So classic and a nice palette cleanser for those loud glitters that I love so.
Of course, being me, after a day of wearing Jennifer alone, I had to add some 'jazz' aka glitter. I added a coat of Kleancolor Aurora a fun, iridescent glitter full of pink stars. Perfection!

Untried Tuesdays: OPI Spiderman Collection

Happy Tuesday! Today I have a fun skittle mani featuring last years' OPI The Amazing Spider-man collection.
I used polishes included in this OPI mini set: Into the Night, Number One Nemesis, Just Spotted the Lizard and Your Web or Mine?
I applied 2 coats of each polish for these swatches, from right to left: Number One Nemesis, Into the Night, Just Spotted the Lizard and Your Web or Mine?
Most of these have been duped now but I do still love Into the Night. It glows on the nail in a way my limited camera skills just couldn't capture! Do you have a favorite from this collection?

Indie Mondays: Pretty & Polished Gem 'n I Over Color Club Daisy Does It

Today is Indie Monday friends and I have a sunny Pretty & Polished stunner for you.
Pretty & Polished Gem 'n I is a pretty yellow based polish with orange, white and blue glitters. This is a pretty one and totally reminded me of a sunny day. I paired it with Color Club Daisy Does It and found it was pretty near a perfect match.
After base coat (Duri Rejuvacote) I applied 2 coats of Daisy Does It followed by 2 thin coats of Gem 'n I for these swatches. I love this combo and think it is perfect for a lovely spring or summer day.

Nail Art Thursdays: China Glaze Immortal with Stamped Accent

Hi! For this Nail Art Thursday I have a simple accent nail look for you.
I started with 2 coats of the amazing China Glaze Immortal from last year's Halloween collection. Then I blended Kleancolor Metallic Blue and Purple to stamp the squiggly lines from Cheeky's CH16 plate on my ring finger for a pretty accent. I love accent finger manis!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: Lynnderella Matter of the Heart & Essie Leading Lady

Happy Wednesday! Today, for On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, I bring you a look right up my alley, with Lynnderella Matter of the Heart with an Essie Leading Lady accent. Girly perfection!
This combo is actually the mani I wore for Valentine's Day this year and I loved it. These 2 polishes complement each other nicely I think.
I used 3 coats across the board here to make everything even then topped it all off with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 of Seche Vite.
